The so-called "power foods" are on everyone's lips - including maca root! Today, we want to reveal why. Maca root is a little powerhouse tuber native to the high altitudes of the Andes in Peru.
The tuber belongs to the Brassicaceae (mustard) family. Due to the increasing interest in this special plant, research efforts are being stepped up to confirm its potential health benefits and various traditional uses.
Also known as "Peruvian ginseng," maca root has a high fiber content (21 g/100 g)* and is very popular in this country, especially among athletes and connoisseurs. For our maca powder, we use only the root of the plant, which is dried at low temperatures
and then carefully ground. The powder contains whole yellow (85-90%) and dark (10-15% red, black) maca root. This is the natural mixing ratio, making our maca powder a high-quality natural product.
The sweet, malty taste of our maca powder makes it a delicious addition to drinks or nut milk beverages, providing a tasty alternative to coffee.
