Do you know Reishi, Maitake, or Cordyceps? These are all mushrooms with a long tradition: Reishi, Maitake, and Cordyceps have enjoyed the highest regard for thousands of years in Asian healing practices, especially in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Science is also increasingly focusing on the special ingredients of these mushrooms, investigating them, for example, for
the presence of vitamins and minerals and their associated health effects.
The mysterious Chaga mushroom (pronounced: Tschaga) is one of these special, legendary mushrooms. As a tree fungus nodule, it grows primarily on birch trees and originates from northern regions such as Finland, Russia, and also Poland. There, this highly esteemed medicinal mushroom has been consumed for thousands of years.
