Cordyceps sinensis Mushroom Powder (Organic & Raw) 60 g

Cordyceps is a rare mushroom native to the damp mountain meadows of the high Himalayas and other mountain ranges in Tibet and China.
The genus Cordyceps belongs to the sac fungi (Ascomycota), which is already indicated by its external, tube-like shape.

Cordyceps also has its cultural origins in China and Tibet, where it has been known since around the 15th century within the framework of traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine. Traditionally, it was used there in the form of a tonic. Today, science is also increasingly focusing on this special medicinal mushroom, examining it for the unique ingredients and effects known from oral tradition.

The Chinese name "Dong Chong Xia Cao" - translated as "winter worm, summer grass"
- goes back to the Tibetan origin of the term and refers to the mushroom's extraordinary way of life: in the wild, Cordyceps requires a caterpillar living in the soil as a host in order to thrive. In spring, a slender fruiting body, usually only a few centimeters tall, grows out of it and breaks through the surface of the earth.

For our Cordyceps mushroom powder, we deliberately avoid the use of animal hosts. Instead, the mushroom is grown on a vegan rice-wood base. Subsequently, the entire fruiting body is gently dried at raw-food temperatures and finely ground in order to optimally preserve the valuable ingredients.
