Description

Reishi is a mushroom that has been valued by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. While the Reishi mushroom is also known as the "mushroom of immortality," or Ling Zhi, in Japan, it is primarily known in Germany by the name "Glänzender Lackporling" (glossy ganoderma), which refers to its external appearance: the Reishi has a cap approx. 5–20 cm tall that sits on a (usually) lateral stem. The fruiting body has a shimmering, reddish-brown color—as if lacquered—with a white edge.

With its over 2,000-year-old tradition within TCM, numerous myths surround Reishi, perhaps more than any other vital mushroom. In China, it has long been valued as a natural dietary supplement and is even classified as more precious than ginseng. It was only over time that the glossy ganoderma found its way into the Western world, where it now enjoys ever-increasing popularity.

For the Reishi powder, the entire fruiting body is gently dried and then finely ground, so that the valuable ingredients are protected and preserved. Our Reishi powder comes from certified organic cultivation and is free from additives and processing aids.
