Bibhitaki refers to the Belleric Myrobalan (Bibhitaka). This is a large deciduous tree from the family Combretaceae, native to all of India and able to reach a height of up to 30 m. Literally translated, Bibhitaka means "that which keeps you away from diseases."

In Ayurvedic teachings (Ger.: knowledge of life), Bibhitaki Phala (the tree fruit) has a long tradition and, alongside Haritaki and Amalaki, is part of the popular and effective herbal mixture "Triphala." It tastes rather tart and has a subtle sweet aftertaste.

After gentle drying, the Bibhitaki fruits are ground into a fine powder and then packaged. The value-preserving processing ensures that the valuable, natural ingredients are optimally preserved.
