Cocoa is one of the greatest treasures of our time and is rightly called the
"brown gold of the Aztecs". Even today, it still fascinates young and old
alike with its unmistakable taste. The evergreen cocoa tree blooms year-round
under favorable conditions, thus bearing fruit throughout the year. When ripe,
these fruits are green-yellow to red, depending on the variety. The valuable
seeds, commonly known as cocoa beans, are contained within the fruits. Cocoa
nibs (cocoa pieces) are the fermented, gently dried, and then broken cocoa
beans. For our cocoa nibs, we use beans of the "Criollo" cocoa variety.
Criollo is one of the most noble cocoa varieties worldwide and is still
cultivated today for the production of high-quality fine chocolate.

Thanks to fewer bitter compounds and a low acidity, Criollo cocoa has a
pleasant, mild taste that melts on the tongue. Cocoa has a mild stimulating
effect. To protect the ingredients, we place particular emphasis on a gentle
production method and the best quality.

Our cocoa nibs, with their particularly fine, delicately tart aroma, are
excellently suited as a valuable snack in between meals or as an ingredient in
muesli, chocolate, ice cream, cookies, smoothies, and cakes. As a topping,
the nibs also refine delicious desserts with their fine cocoa note. Let your
