Astaxanthin Capsules

Astaxanthin is one of the strongest antioxidantsin nature. It is a reddish pigment that belongs to the group of carotenoids. This carotenoid is naturally produced by the microalga Haematococcus pluvialisand also enters the food chain in various animals such as salmon, shrimp, lobster, or flamingos, to which it gives their characteristic reddish to pinkish coloration.

For our Astaxanthin capsules, Haematococcus pluvialisis cultivated on the sunny Kona Coast in Hawaii. The production site is located in a designated“Biosecure Zone,” a particularly protected and controlled areathat offers optimal conditions for the cultivation of sensitive microalgae. The introduction of unwanted organisms is strictly controlled. 

The microalgae are first propagated under controlled conditions in closed photobioreactors. Subsequently, they are transferred to open cultivation ponds, where they are exposed to the intense Hawaiian sun. Under these natural conditions, the microalga produces and stores  the characteristic reddish astaxanthin.
After harvesting, the algae biomass is processed and the astaxanthin is extracted via supercritical CO₂ extraction.

One capsule contains 4 mg of astaxanthin, and the recommended daily dose provides 8 mg of astaxanthin. The formula is supplemented with vitamin E.
