Der sagenumwobene Baobab- oder Affenbrotbaum wächst in vielen Teilen Afrikas und kann mehrere tausend Jahre alt werden. Im Volksmund wird er auch als "Baum des Lebens" bezeichnet. Das Baobabpulver wird aus dem vielseitigen Fruchtextrakt der Baobabfrucht hergestellt. In der harten Fruchtschale trocknet das Fruchtmark auf natürliche Weise und wird anschließend behutsam von den Samen und Fasern abgelöst und gesiebt.
Besonders beachtlich ist der sehr hohe Vitamin C Gehalt sowie der hohe Ballaststoffgehalt des Fruchtpulvers. Vitamin C trägt zur Verringerung von Müdigkeit und Ermüdung bei, schützt die Zellen vor oxidativem Stress und trägt zu einer normalen Funktion der Immunsystems bei. Das essentielle Vitamin erhöht zudem die Eisenaufnahme.
